Job overview

An opportunity has arisen for a Catering Supervisor to join our team. The role will involve working Monday to Friday supporting catering provision across the Clatterbridge site.

 

Main duties of the job

To perform supervisory duties, provide training and departmental information and a link between Managers, departmental staff, patients and clients over Arrowe Park and Clatterbridge sites

Plan, co-ordinate, present, deliver or action results (with Management agreement) form surveys, questionnaires or research undertaken from Management instructions or information

Qualifications, Specific Experience & Training

Essential criteria
  • Minimum of 5 GCSE’s at Grade A*-C, including Maths and English
  • Customer service NVQ level 3 or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of catering services supervision
Desirable criteria
  • Supervisory and management introductory course or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of Code of Conduct Hospital Staff
  • ILM Team leader level 2 or equivalent experience

Knowledge and Skills

Essential criteria
  • Cash handling and reconciliation and banking procedures
  • Basic knowledge in computer operating and systems
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of handling sickness and absence
  • Knowledge of dietary needs for patients
  • Intermediate food hygiene required
  • Manual Handling awareness
  • A good knowledge of department Hazard Analysis Critical Control Path (HACCP) system
  • Knowledge of NHS policies and procedures – to comply with all recommendations applicable that are set out in the following publications: Hygiene – Good Practice Guide, Hospital Catering (Delivering a quality service), Reducing Waste in the NHS, Food Safety, First Principles & Industry Guide to good hygiene practices: catering guide and all references from the National Health Service Better Hospital Food implementation support book.
