Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Neurodisability team based at Clatterbridge Rehabilitation Centre.

The applicant will need to provide evidence of working within a Hospital environment within the past 6 months and to have a good basic education and be committed to undertake any relevant qualifications. However consideration will be given to those working in care work.

The role requires the applicant to have good communication and interpersonal skills. Your communication skills should be of a high standard and you should be committed to delivering an excellent service at all times. The right candidate must be flexible and be able to manage their time/workload effectively in a busy environment. This will enable them to support the trained staff in delivering care to a named group of patients from admission through to discharge.

You will become part of our Multidisciplinary Team and work alongside the Registered Nurses , providing direct care to our neurodisability patients.

Main duties of the job

Provide basic care needs to meet all activities of living. Meeting nutritional needs , personal care needs , mobility needs , toileting needs , prevention of skin damage and maintaining patient safety.

Knowledge and Skills

Desirable criteria
  • Previous experience and training of manual handling patients using appropriate equipment
  • Can demonstrate an understanding of the importance of promoting patient independence
  • Able to provide support and reassurance to patients

Qualifications, Specific Experience & Training

Essential criteria
  • Level 2 qualification (e.g. GCSE Grade A-C, NVQ2) in Health & Social Care OR A good standard of general education to GCSE level and the agreement to undertake the relevant L2 qualification on appointment
  • Completion of the Care Certificate theory and practice standards within 12 weeks of commencing employment with the Trust
Desirable criteria
  • Experience working in a clinical environment
  • Experience working in the NHS
