An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Estates and Facilities Department in Broadoak Unit for enthusiastic team members for a Facilities Management Assistant (FMA) Domestic. The post is suited to a motivated and experienced domestic services worker to work in Broadoak Unit. The post holder will provide a cleaning/ catering/ house keeping service for our inpatient unit ensuring National cleaning standards, PLACE requirements and CQC standards are met.
This for 2 x posts, one full time and one part time;
Post 1 . Monday to Friday 8am-4pm 37.5hrs
Post 2. 27.5hrs on a 7 week rolling rota including weekends
Main duties of the job
An opportunity has arisen for a Facilities Management Assistant (Cleaning and Catering) to work as part of a team at Broadoak Unit, to carry out Cleaning and Catering duties and help us maintain the high standards already set within this department and in line with National Standards.
We are looking to recruit a team member who have a flexible approach to their workload, can work to deadlines and show high standards of quality in their work. You will be expected to carry out a full range of domestic duties.
You must have good communication skills, a pleasant personality, a positive attitude and a willingness to work within an acute mental health ward environment providing a high standard of cleanliness at all times. You must also possess the ability to work within a team or on your own as necessary with an understanding of health and safety in relation to safe working practices.
This 37.5 hour post operates Monday to Friday, 8:00 - 16:00 hours. Some experience in a similar role would be beneficial however full training will be given

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
To work as members of a team, carrying out facilities tasks as allocated and prioritised. Facilities tasks may include all or a combination of the following:
a) Cleaning of clinical/ward areas, inclusive of toilets.
b) Waste disposal.
c) Linen transportation.
d) Basic food preparation.
e) Fridge and food temperature monitoring.
To assist colleagues and their line manager, carry out the tasks assigned to the team or individual and to support the minimisation of overtime and sickness costs to the Trust and also minimise the waste of resources, through operating the required reporting, management or information
systems.
To undertake all mandatory training as required by Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust and ensure that all required training is kept up to date.
To take part in performance management and Personal Achievement and Contribution Evaluations (PACE).
To comply with all relevant policies and procedures (including, but not limited to, health & safety, security, manual handling and food safety). As work may be carried out in a wide variety of locations, adherence to site-specific security procedures is of paramount importance.
To take responsibility for the completion of all duties in a safe and efficient manner, and to maintain regular contact with their line manager.
To stand in for other FMA’s as required.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- NHS experience and training in safety, health and catering or cleaning tasks
- CIEH Foundation Certificate in Food Hygiene, or equivalent
Applicant requirements
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
