Job overview

An  exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified  and enthusiastic  Healthcare Science Practitioner to join our dynamic Neurophysiology team.   We undertake a range of investigations including adult EEG (inc sleep, on and off site ITU portables)  NCS/EMG, EP (VEP, SSEP, BSEP).  In addition to, long term EEG monitoring (home based and ward based), video telemetry (inc for pre surgical evaluation for epilepsy surgery) and theatre  monitoring.   The team supports a culture of continued professional development and there are opportunities to attend national scientific meetings.    Successful candidate must have a minimum of BSc Clinical  Physiologist (Neurophysiology) and RCCP/AHCS registration. 

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be required to perform  adult EEGs (within the department, wards and off sites) plus VEPs (training and support will be provided where necessary).

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • BSc Hons Healthcare Science(Neurophysiology) or equivalent experience
  • BTEC HNC/D in Medical Physics and Phys.Measurements
  • 4 GCSEs(Grade A-C) including Maths, English, and Dual Science, or equivalent
  • ECNE Part 1
  • ECNE Part 2 or equivalent experience
Desirable criteria
  • 2 A Levels (including one science subject) or equivalent
  • Training & Assessing qualification

Professional Registration

Essential criteria
  • RCCP (Practitioner) register

Knowledge & Experience

Essential criteria
  • Practical experience and familiarity with a range of routine Neurophysiological investigations
Desirable criteria
  • Supervisory experience
