Dental Dispensary Assistant

To assist in the running of the clinic dispensaries, and provide assistance and support during examination and treatment clinics at Liverpool University Dental Hospital.

A vacancy has arisen for a Band 2 Dispensary Assistant in a busy clinic at the Liverpool Dental Hospital.
Duties include handing out dental instruments and materials/stock control and working closely with the dental nurses and undergraduate students.
The successful applicant must have good communication skills and the ability to prioritise.
Training will be provided.

Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was created on 1st October 2019 following the merger of two adult acute Trusts, Aintree University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust.

Preparing clinical environment under supervision of dental nurses, including setting up dental units and instruments.
To take steps to reduce cross infection risks, including clearing away used instruments and materials and keeping the treatment area clean.
Distribution of instruments and materials to nurses, clinicians and students.

Experience

- Previous experience of working in a dental surgery or hospital environment
Knowledge

- Understanding of the importance of high standards of cleanliness and infection control.
- Familiarity with controlling the supply and flow of materials/instruments.
