Job overview

An exciting opportunity has become available for a part-time ward clerk band 2 post on ward 8b at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital.

the ward is a mixed ward with 28 patients, Palliative ,Haematology and General Medicine. There are three separate consultants for each speciality.

The role requires the successful candidate to have good basic  IT skills and to be able to speak confidently  to patients when dealing with their enquires either face to face or over the phone. The successful candidate will also be responsible of arriving the patients via the IPM system for their appointment and ensuring they have a new appointment for their next treatment if required. 

Main duties of the job

The main roles are answering the phone, good basic computer skills, ensuring patients next appointments have been booked. Dealing with the public on a daily basis.

preferably previous experience is required but training will be given. The candidate needs to be confident in this role

The role of the ward clerk  is to answer phone and deal with patient enquires. file notes, ensure documentation is correct ordering  documentation required for the ward.

 Ensuring  the digital boards are correct with consultant information.  Using the IPM system making sure patient has been arrived for their appointment and new appointments given, sending out appointment letters .
