Job overview
This post is a senior Ocular Oncology fellowship. There is one post is available from January 2025. This post is available full time and will be awarded for twelve months.
Applications are invited for this post which is aimed at experienced ophthalmologists who may or may not be looking to continue to achieve the competencies required to obtain CCT. This not recognised as a training post. The start date will be January 2025. Duration of the post is twelve months in the first instance. It is likely that the post will be extended if mutually agreed. There are opportunities to engage in research and to benefit from the many sub-specialist training opportunities available in this centre of excellence.
Main duties of the job
The Post
The objective of this post is to significantly improve the trainee’s ability to diagnose, treat and monitor adult ocular tumours and to provide adequate counselling and support.
The Ocular Oncology Fellow is expected to play a major role in patient management and to perform audit (i.e. quality control studies) as well as research. It is also expected that research will be published in leading ophthalmic and oncological journals. The Fellow will be encouraged to give oral presentations at departmental, national and international conferences. Full audio-visual facilities are available, including DVD in the operating theatre and the support of our ocular oncology photography/presentation specialist.
