The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK’s leading providers of non-surgical cancer treatment, caring for a population of 2.4 million people across Cheshire & Merseyside, North Wales, the Isle of Man and parts of Lancashire.

Our flagship specialist cancer hospital in Liverpool opened in June 2020, supported by our hospital on the Clatterbridge Health Park in Wirral providing outpatient cancer treatment and supportive care, and our radiotherapy treatment centre on the Aintree Hospital site. 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to work as a Staff Nurse within the Haemato-oncology Department and Bone Marrow Transplant Unit which is JACIE accredited  based at Clatterbridge Cancer Centre-Liverpool

We are looking to recruit individuals to undertake this role and be committed, motivated and compassionate, with good organisational and communication skills, to complement the existing team.

You will be encouraged to expand and develop your knowledge, skills and competencies within a supportive and friendly environment. Whilst haemato-oncology experience is not necessary, there must be a willingness to learn about the specialty. Integrity, vision and a desire to take the service forward and expand the nursing role are also a requirement. The job is challenging , interesting and many different protocols means treatment plans are varied. There is a lot to learn, making this an exciting place to work.

Main duties of the job

The post is responsible for the assessment of care needs and the
development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of
care.
- The post is responsible for carrying out all relevant forms of
nursing care without supervision.
- The post holder will demonstrate procedures to and supervise
qualified and/or unqualified staff.
- The post holder will be required to rotate into the Haemato-oncology in-patient ward, outpatient day care unit and the Stem
Cell Transplant unit.
- The post holder will be responsible to work varied shift patterns, to
cover a 24 hour nursing service.
