Job overview
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Walton Centres Risk and Governance Team to support with all aspects of the Risk and Governance workplan but more specifically supporting the Trusts Risk Manager to ensure the Trusts Risk and Governance processes and systems are followed and fully embedded across the Trust.
This role requires excellent administrative, verbal and written communication skills together with attention to detail and the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team. The post holder will communicate with a range of stakeholders from across the Trust and externally, about complex Governance topics and will therefore need to be able to use a range of communication skills including empathy, persuasion, tact, negotiation and influencing.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will support with providing comprehensive administrative support to the Risk & Governance Team, specifically the Trusts Risk Manager.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the management and coordination of various meetings which fall under the remit of Risk & Governance team.
The successful candidate will monitor the Trust incident management system (Datix). Providing various reports as required.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Good standard of general education, minimum of 2 A Levels Grade C or equivalent experience.
- Educated to Diploma level or equivalent experience.
Desirable criteria
- RSA Typewriting II (or equivalent including ECDL).
Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria
- Administration experience
- Experience of administration of meeting (including minute taking).
- Word processing experience
- Experience of Microsoft packages
- Experience of office technology (faxes, photocopiers etc.)
- Experience of managing own workload and making own decisions on a regular basis
- Knowledge of Risk/Health and Safety principles
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience supporting Senior Managers
- Experience of using SharePoint system
- Experience and knowledge of DATIX Risk Management System
- Knowledge of Trust and local policies and procedures
Skills & Attributes
Essential criteria
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Able to communicate effectively (telephone, written and face to face)
- Ability to work without close supervision, using own initiative
- Ability to work under pressure whilst demonstrating sound organisational skills in order to meet deadlines whilst maintaining a high quality of work

- Ability to use tact and diplomacy when dealing with highly sensitive issues and to work as part of a team

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
