Job overview

The Cardio-Respiratory Department at Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is looking to recruit an enthusiastic Assistant Technical Officer to join our busy, expanding multi-disciplinary team for maternity cover fixed term contract.

At the present time Wirral University Teaching Hospital has 8 Cardiologists and 7 Respiratory Physicians and is developing services in a variety of areas of the department.

Main duties of the job

The department currently offers an extensive range of investigations which assistants deliver and support and these include;, ECGs, Tapes, BP monitoring, Event monitoring, TOE assistants, ambulatory download, assisting senior physiologist with Echo and ward cover with ECGs.

  • Educated to BTEC/NVQ or equivalent to enable development of professional skills desirable
  • ARTP Spirometry Certification or willingness to work towards
