Job overview

We are looking for a Dietitian (Band 5) to join our service, with good communication skills and a high degree of enthusiasm, flexibility and commitment. You should have experience of working within the NHS and an MDT, through student training or once qualified.

This is an ideal opportunity for either a new graduate, or for staff who have experience of working as a dietitian in the NHS.  Applications will be accepted for final year students who have completed placements in the NHS and are awaiting HCPC registration.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work within well-structured teams with regular appraisal for all staff. We offer six monthly rotations seeing in-patients and outpatients across the specialties’ of diabetes / neuro, gastroenterology / critical care and renal.

The hospital has two main bases at Arrowe Park and Clatterbridge, with  excellent postgraduate facilities at Arrowe Park Hospital.

The successful candidates should have experience of working in the NHS as a student or qualified Dietitian. You will be involved in the training of students on A, B and C placements, healthcare professionals (such as clinical support worker training) and patients (such as pulmonary rehabilitation sessions). As part of your CPD, we have a regular journal club and opportunities to attend internal and external study days.

Essential criteria
  • Degree in Dietetics, or a dietetic qualification of and equivalent level recognised by Health Care Professions Council.
  • State Registration with the Health Care Professional Council ( HCPC)
  • Member of British Dietetic Association or similar
