THIS POST IS FIXED TERM/SECONDMENT FOR 12 MONTHS DUE TO MATERNITY LEAVE COVER
An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen within the Acute Medical Unit (AMU) for a Band 3 Physicians Assistant.
Our AMU offers staff a unique environment. We have an extremely busy medical take from a GP locality spanning 160,000 people, alongside supporting our own emergency department.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will work closely with a registered nurse in performing specific skills at triage. Such as venepuncture, cannulation, recording of vital signs and performing ECG's and BM monitoring. The role is key to the safe and effective running of the department as well as being an essential team member with an array of tasks being delegated. The role is varied, challenging and the successful candidate needs to be dynamic in their approach. You may be expected to support the wider team to deliver the highest standard of patient focused care. This will include assisting patients to meet their ADL's whilst promoting their independence, stock taking and ensuring equipment is fit for purpose. You should be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and be of an approachable manner.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
