Health Care Support Worker

An opportunity has arisen for staff members who are experienced, enthusiastic and highly motivated Band 2 HCSW to join our team on our Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) based at the Princess of Wales Hospital.
PICU is specified as a high risk environment due the acute mental health deterioration of clients including increased levels of challenging behaviours to manage. Due to this, PICU requires to have a minimum of x 2 male staff members on all 3 shift patterns at all times. (Mornings, Afternoons, Nights).
The successful candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with the qualified staff to ensure that a high standard of care is maintained across the unit, and be expected to demonstrate a genuine interest in this field of nursing, displaying excellent people skills such as communication. They will be expected to work as part of a team, ensuring the delivery of high quality person centred patient care.

We are an 8 bedded adult unit providing person centred care for people suffering with significant mental health difficulties and associated challenging presentations.
The successful candidates will be expected to work collaboratively with the qualified staff to ensure that a high standard of care is maintained across the unit, and be expected to demonstrate a genuine interest in this field of nursing, displaying excellent people skills such as communication. They will be expected to work as part of a team, ensuring the delivery of high quality person centred patient care.
Staff working within this environment are afforded the opportunity to experience diverse mental illnesses.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post, however not essential; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
