Job overview

The Postholder will join the busy Obstetrics and Gynaecology team and provide support in the validation and management of the Gynaecology waiting list.

The Postholder will work with the senior management team and Gynaecology Waiting List team to ensure that all stages of the waiting list are validated and patients listed for surgical treatment are booked in a timely manner.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work independently and provide support to the Clinical Service Team by ensuring patients pathways are reflected correctly on the Welsh Patient Administration System (WPAS) and Qliksense.  

 

The post holder will be responsible for the validation of Referral to Treatment Time (RTT) pathways and Follow-Up Not Booked (FUNB) lists.  The post holder will update WPAS system to reflect cancer performance, accurate patient pathways including the use of non-WPAS events to stop or restart clocks, updating activity outcomes.

 

They will update follow up outcomes, pathway event and preferred session to correctly inform the Follow up booking wizard lists.  The post holder will need to ensure all actions taken in the process of validation are clearly annotated and dated on the WPAS system for audit trail purposes. 

 

The post holder will provide Support to Managers and Operational Support Managers with a weekly update of validation work carried out, which should include details of current and future month end patients.

 

The post holder will assist the Clinical Service Team by monitoring targets in RTT, Cancer, FUNB and Accident and escalate the issues appropriately.

 

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
