Job overview

We offer this truly exciting opportunity for experienced nurses to join us in our new community based Health Protection Service. Working primarily in a vaccination and immunisation leadership role you will also enjoy the benefits of gaining experience in our developing wider health protection model. These posts will be of interest to highly motivated nurses who can demonstrate sound knowledge, skills and experience in leading and managing teams. Applicants should also offer a positive and enthusiastic commitment to excellence in population health protection.

Successful candidates will lead a team of nurses working flexibly right across the Health Board footprint providing the highest standard of vaccination, immunisation and testing services. This will be for both our general public and also our staff who live and work in Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board.

Main duties of the job

Under the direction of the Senior Nurse, Vaccination & Immunisation/Health Protection, the post holder will carry out continuing responsibility for the delivery of safe, equitable, effective, timely and accessible vaccination programmes across Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board (CTMUHB).  These will include the broadest range of both adult and childhood immunisation schedules as well as any identified work associated with the wider CTMUHB Health Protection function.

Successful applicants will ensure the highest standards of patient care and governance via the effective and efficient management of human, financial and physical resources ensuring that these are maintained through diligent monitoring, support and corrective action, when required.

In this role you will also commit to ensuring that vulnerable settings within CTMUHB are supported with sound nursing guidance on prevention and management of disease outbreaks and epidemics, as well as testing and tracing processes where clinically appropriate.  This will be for all critical settings across health and social care, HMP Parc and multiple other Primary Care and community environments within the CTMUHB footprint.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
