Job overview

Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board seeks to appoint a highly motivated individual to join the CAMHS Directorate in an innovative and dynamic team based within the Cwm Taf Morgannwg Locality.

The successful candidate must have the calibre to work at a fast pace, and support the Senior Nurse in leading a diverse team of nurses based within the Cwm Taf Morgannwg  Locality.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work closely with young people who have complex needs and require a multi-agency approach to their care and treatment.  They will be skilled in providing assessment and intervention to young people with complex needs in a range of settings, including Care Homes, bespoke placements and within Youth Justice Services. 

The approach will be young person centered and will focus on the needs of the child.  The post holder will work closely with care staff and provide support and consultation on managing behaviours related to emotional or mental health need. The work will include specific advice, bespoke education and approaches to support the management of behaviours which can often be trauma related.

The post holder will work closely with the wider multi-agency team to make decisions and provide interventions agreed as part of the care and treatment package. 

The multi-agency approach will include working closely with services across Cwm Taf including Local Authorities, Police, Youth Justice, Children’s Services, Education, FACT and Clinical Nurse Specialist Looked after Children (CNS LAC).

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Essential criteria
  • Educated to master’s degree level or equivalent experience in a related subject area
  • Safeguarding training to Level 3; Knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures; Understanding of governance frameworks for safeguarding/looked after children within the organisation and partner agencies

Skills

  • Able to demonstrate situations where effective leadership and management skills have been used; Excellent communication skills

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Significant experience of working with and assessing the mental health needs of children Significant experience of working with complex children and young people

Registration
