Job overview

The role of the 8a Service Manager, working within the Primary and Community Care Group, provides an excellent opportunity for an experienced, motivated and passionate primary care manager, to support development and delivery of a suite of Urgent Primary Care Services including the Navigation Hub, GP Out-of-Hours, and a range of call taking services.  

The successful candidate will have exceptional knowledge of Urgent Primary care Service with demonstrable experience in service planning and managing service change, including audit and evaluation. We are looking for a manager who can come and make a difference to our team and provide inspirational leadership, alongside the day to day-management. The service manager will have experience of managing teams, with the ability to maintain the supportive team environment we have created and provide opportunities for continued learning and development. 

Main duties of the job

Successful candidates must be experienced and professional leaders and have experience of working in a Primary Care or Urgent Primary care setting.  Knowledge of call centre environments coupled with delivery of front lines clinical services with large teams would be advantageous.

You will be a confident communicator with colleagues and stakeholders alike.

You will be able to deliver on strategic objectives for primary care and the wider care group.

You will report to the Directorate Manager and contribute with the senior management team to ensure operational plans and performance are closely managed, providing solutions to resolve difficult operational issues.

You will work closely with the senior management team, to develop and implement the Integrated Medium Term Plan and operational strategies, ensuring that systems and processes are in place to comply with relevant legislation and governance requirements.

Above all, you will have ambition and drive needed to work within an environment of change and innovation.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
