An exciting opportunity for a health care support worker has become available in the district Nursing Team Bargoed in Caerphilly Borough to be part of an innovative, dynamic team.
This is a developmental role , to become a Associate practitioner at level four, you will be supported to complete this qualification , within your working role .
Main duties of the job
We are seeking a passionate and motivated Health Care Assistant/Phlebotomist to join our community nursing team based in Bargoed, Caerphilly. The District Nursing Service works closely with GP'S and other members of the multidisciplinary team to provide an excellent standard of person centred nursing care to adult patients in their own homes, residential care or clinic settings, supporting them to self manage where possible. You will be a flexible team player but confident at working alone in the community setting, visiting a wide range of housebound patients.
Previous experience of health or social caring for patients in the community would be advantageous.
We will support you to transfer your existing knowledge and develop new clinical skills to become a Community Health Care Assistant. As a Health Care Assistant you will work developing skills in simple wound care, pressure ulcer care, phlebotomy, and supporting the registered nurses in the delivery of all aspects of holistic care.
The District Nursing Service is commissioned to provide a 24/7 service. The core shift is 09.00 -17.00 hours over seven days. Applicants will be required to work weekends, and bank holidays.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
