Job overview

Be responsible for the co-ordination and organisation for the Acute Oncology Service (AOS) under the direction of the Acute Oncology Nurses . Data collection to ensure compliance with regional key performance and quality performance indicators. 

You will be part of a small dynamic team providing an acute oncology service to patients admitted to the four acute hospital sites in Aneurin Bevan University Health board.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has become available to join the Aneurin Bevan acute oncology service. We are looking for a friendly, well-organised individual with strong administrative skills to take on the key role of coordinator. This position involves supporting both patients and clinical staff, while also being part of the wider cancer services administrative team.

Working collaboratively with coordinators across South East Wales, the successful candidate will help ensure a smooth and efficient pathway for patients presenting with oncological emergencies.

Drawing on their administrative experience, the post holder will provide high-quality, day-to-day administrative and organisational support for the acute oncology service. Responsibilities include accurately recording confidential clinical meetings in real time, communicating with patients and healthcare professionals, collating and entering data to ensure compliance with regional key performance indicators. The role will also include cross covering with other areas within cancer services to contribute to sustainability of services.

This role is pan-Gwent to align with service needs and the candidate will be required to travel between sites as needed.
