Job overview

Aneurin Bevan University Health Board has exciting opportunities to join our Facilities team at the Grange University Hospital as a Facilities Operative working within Retail Services.

The posts we have available are:

Post 1 - 16 hours per week.  Shifts will vary between 15:00 - 20:00 & 09:00 - 15:00 3 shifts per week.

Post 2 - 15 hours per week.  Shifts will vary between 16:00 - 20:00 & 09:00 - 15:00 3-4 shifts per week.

Post 3 - 22.5 hours per week (out of hours).  Shifts will be 20:00 - 03:00 3-4 shifts per week.

Please note, these posts are on a 4 week rota so working days will be different each week. 

We are looking for highly motivated and energetic individuals who are committed to enhancing the patient & customer experience, therefore you must have a passion for providing a high level of customer service.

Previous experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be given.  

Main duties of the job

The post requires the post-holder to be flexible in the performance of their duties, within the Kitchen/Catering service.  These duties could cover Main & Ward kitchens; Restaurant; Coffee Shop; and will include food preparation and service, cleaning; moving, storing and recording stock. 

Previous experience would be an advantage, as would a current Food Hygiene qualification, although these are not necessary and full training will be provided for successful candidates.   

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Knowledge & Training

  • Good basic education
  • Level 2 Food Safety or requirement to attain
  • NVQ level 1/2 in Facilities Services and/or Customer Services
  • Willingness to undertake accredited & mandatory training relevant to the role
