Job overview

We are looking for a highly motivated, methodical, and detail-oriented Test Analyst to join our Software Development Team. In this role, you will uphold and enhance the team's high testing standards, playing a key part in delivering high-quality software products.

As a member of the dynamic and innovative Digital, Data & Technology Department, you will work with colleagues in the Software Development Team supporting the delivery of projects that form part of the digital platform, and integration projects, which facilitate the sharing of data between national, Health Board wide and departmental systems. 

The role will allow you to build on your current skills and experience, and provide you with opportunities for personal and professional development. You will work with a wide range of stakeholders from varying professions across the health board. If you are looking for a new challenge in a prosperous department then this role is for you.

  • This is a South Wales based position and the interview will be held in person in South Wales.

Main duties of the job

  • Managing the testing process; creating and reviewing test plans and test reports, test case design, test execution and reporting defects
  • Performing system, integration and regression testing using both manual and automated techniques
  • Build and deliver comprehensive, robust and reliable automated test frameworks and automation suites
  • Represent the Test Team in agile scrum ceremonies, actively contributing to planning and backlog refinement tasks
  • Excellent team worker, able to work collaboratively as part of an innovative and agile team, whilst being able to manage personal workloads to meet agreed deadlines

The training period will be up to two years depending on the your current knowledge and experience and remuneration during the training period will be in line with Annex 21 of the AFC employees handbook:

  • Up to 12 months prior to completion of training: 75 per cent of the pay band maximum of the fully qualified rate
  • More than one but less than two years prior to completion of training: 70 per cent of the pay band maximum of the qualified rate
