Aneurin Bevan University Health Board (ABUHB) Theatre Department are seeking to employ Band 5 Theatre Practitioner to join our friendly theatre team in the area of ENT , Maxfax.
We currently have four hospitals providing theatre services in Cwmbran (Grange University Hospital), Newport (Royal Gwent Hospital), Abergavenny (Nevill Hall Hospital) and Ystrad Mynach (Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr). We have 24 hour emergency and trauma services plus major elective sessions at our newest hospital in the Grange University Hospital in Cwmbran which opened in November 2020 and at our other hospitals offer elective services in the specialties of Colorectal, Upper GI, Gynaecology, ENT, Max Fax, Orthopaedic and Urology Surgery. We are a supportive, friendly department which is strongly centered on team work and patient care.
So if you are a dynamic and enthusiastic team player with excellent communication skills who would like to work in our friendly theatre department we would welcome an application from you. The applicant must be a Registered Nurse / Operating Department Practitioner.
Main duties of the job
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated theatre practitioner to join our team in ent/max fax theatres. We are a cross site team operating in both The Grange and The Royal Gwent. This position would be primarily based at The Grange but we would ask candidates for flexibility and ability to work shifts in the Royal Gwent when required.
The successful candidates will be given the opportunity to increase their clinical skills to be able to provide and promote high standards of patient care within our operating theatres. We have dedicated Practice Educators who will work with you to ensure that you can access training and to allow you to develop as a practitioner. We would welcome applications from both experienced theatre practitioners and newly qualified practitioners who are seeking to build a career pathway in theatre services.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

- Registered Nurse (RN) holding current registration with NMC OR Operating Department Practitioner registered with HCPC
