Job overview

We are looking to appoint a self-motivated individual with great interpersonal skills and a commitment to customer service to work as a Radiology reporting coordinator.

Main duties of the job

Every day is different! The Reporting Coordinator role will cover a variety of tasks including, but not limited, to:

  • Providing day to day monitoring of all outstanding reporting workload within Radiology IT systems.    
  • Leading the team of Medical Administrators.
  • Working closely with Radiology reporting staff to ensure oversight of all processes.
  • To liaise with the Trust Informatics team to provide data regarding reporting to support national, regional, or local returns as required. Support will be provided by the Radiology Business Support Manager.
  • Work with relevant members of Radiology Team to implement process changes as required   
  • To complete daily verification checks including reporting staff leavers process.
  • Work closely with members of the PACS, Administration, Management and Radiographic teams to continually improve data quality.
  • To monitor and communicate on reporting backlogs and forecast potential issues on a regular basis to allow the reporting team to focus on areas where the need is greatest.
  • To escalate monitored reporting issues or concerns in line with the departments escalations processes.

The role is interesting and varied with candidates requiring strong communication, IT skills and the ability to interact professionally with different staffing  levels and groups, by telephone, electronically and in person.

Education and Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Educated to NVQ level 3 or above (or equivalent)
  • Evidence of leadership training (eg. Diploma in Leadership and Management or Trust based leadership skills courses )

Knowledge and Experience

Essential criteria
  • Relevant experience in a coordinating role (preferably in a healthcare setting)
  • Experience in writing reports or procedural documents
  • Experience of working with a waiting list, including familiarity with PTLs
  • Experience of producing and analysing data
Desirable criteria
  • Experience in working within a Radiology Department
  • Experience of relevant Trust IT Systems such as CRIS, PACS & ICE

Skills and Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Working knowledge of Word, Excel and other relevant IT packages
  • Regular handling of a wide range of activities and prioritising these effectively
  • Good levels of written, verbal and electronic communication
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good organisational skills
  • Good understanding of information governance
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Ability to work effectively in a team or autonomously without supervision
