Job overview

Norfolk & Waveney Integrated Care System (N&W ICS) want to embed apprenticeships in the heart of workforce planning and development.  They provide a unique opportunity to diversify the workforce by recruiting staff from non-traditional backgrounds whilst also offering career development pathways for existing staff.

N&W ICS, in partnership with University of Suffolk’s Centre of Excellence in Health Apprenticeships, want to develop system apprenticeship programmes to enable individuals to gain wider knowledge and skills across a range of healthcare providers to deliver integrated patient care.

This is a strategic role combining leadership, planning and delivery skills to champion and develop apprenticeships across the Norfolk & Waveney Integrated Care system.

This is an opportunity to bring together system partners and educational providers including HEIs and Colleges to develop and deliver apprenticeships.  A key focus will be to embed apprenticeships as the key recruitment method into all clinical and non-clinical roles with the aim of addressing key workforce challenges of an aging workforce and diversifying the workforce profile in order that it more accurately reflects the local population.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will have extensive experience in apprenticeships and workforce and be an experienced system leader. They will feel passionately about developing career pathways which will enable young people to transition from education into employment through apprenticeship programmes and support managers to develop their current workforce. They will have an excellent track record in delivering on projects and initiatives as well as engaging and working flexibly with a wide range of stake holders.

The post holder will be a senior member of the SNEE workforce team and will work collaboratively with the UoS’ Pro-Vice Chancellor (Health).
