Great Yarmouth Acute Services, are a 18 bedded, mixed gender Ward caring for adult patients with Acute Mental Health within the Great Yarmouth and Waveney Care Group. 

Great Yarmouth Acute Services are looking to recruit a conscientious, calm and confident individual to become part of the Administration Team. The duties will cover both management and clinical admin supporting the senior team.

This role is a 37.5 hours per week, and is offered on a substantive basis. 

Main duties of the job

You must possess excellent time management skills, a positive approach and be able to remain calm under pressure. The successful candidate will need to have the ability to confidently and sensitively deal with telephone calls from individuals who may sometimes be distressed or upset.

You will need to be able to demonstrate the strength of your communication, prioritisation and administration skills at the same time as showcasing your knowledge of IT systems. You will be able to evidence a flexible response to service needs and the ability to think creatively.

Experience of working to deadlines, on your own initiative and maintaining confidentiality are also essential.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • NVQ 3 Business Administration or equivalent or working towards
  • NVQ 2 Customer Services or working towards.
  • Secretarial experience at intermediate level

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft packages or equivalent.
  • Maintaining administrative / secretarial systems
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of NHS policy / procedures.

Experience

  • Understanding and experience in a full range of secretarial procedures and systems gained through practice at intermediate level.
