Job overview

Suffolk Rehabilitation and Recovery Service (SRRS), is a 24 hours service providing rehabilitation support for service users reintegrating back into the community following inpatient care.

This is an exciting opportunity for somebody that is energised with a positive attitude and has a passion for supporting and streamlining process. You will need good organisational skills and be able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team but also to work proactively using your own initiative, you must have good typing and computer skills. 

The successful applicant will have the confidence and ability to work within our new management team structure. As the responsible administrator for this new team the exciting challenge will be to make this role your own. You will have full training along with regular supervision and support from a Senior admin as well as the wider admin team based at Woodlands. We encourage and support development and opportunities to progress across our admin teams in Suffolk.

 

Main duties of the job

In this role you will attend and minute multi-disciplinary team meetings and patient reviews. You will support the clinical team and the Medics to keep data up to date and current, organising reviews, liaising with professionals, carers, family members and patients to ensure a high-quality standard of care. This means you will need to be competent in note taking and have good typing skills.  The role will also include, but is not limited to, answering the phones for the team, creating letters for consultants as required, procurement orders for the unit, raising IT and maintenance requests and clinical scanning as well as other adhoc tasks. Communication and organisation is key to success in this role.

The successful applicant will also be part of the wider admin team based at Woodlands, Ipswich Hospital and will be trained to help cover reception when required. Having an insight into how other wards run makes this role varied and interesting and allows for progression to higher banding roles for the right applicant.

Essential criteria
  • Pitman/RSA III Typing / Word Processing or equivalent secretarial experience at intermediate level.
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of Trust electronic record system

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Understanding and experience in a full range of secretarial procedures and systems gained through practice at intermediate level
  • Ability to work with senior members of staff across a large organisation
Desirable criteria
  • Previous experience of working within an inpatient NHS setting

Skills

  • ICT skills including Microsoft (especially spreadsheets and presentations, e.g. Excel, PowerPoint) or equivalent.
