Job overview

The Wellbeing Service is part of the national IAPT programme, aimed at helping people across Suffolk aged 16 and over, who are suffering with mild to moderately severe anxiety and depression.

The successful post holder will be accredited with a BABCP accreditation as a CBT/Therapist.

We want patients and staff to recommend our organisation as a place where they would be happy for their friends and family to be treated. You can help us do this by bringing your skills, experience and commitment to The Wellbeing Service.

We work closely with community colleagues to support people living with Long Term Conditions as well as our core work. We will offer evidence based psychological treatments to help individuals to live well with their condition and strengthen links with key physical health colleagues in our area. Additional training in working with Long Term Conditions will be provided.

Main duties of the job

You will provide high intensity interventions to a range of adults with anxiety, depression and trauma related problems. You will receive regular supervision as well as in service training and CPD days that ensure your continued learning and development.

This is an opportunity to join an established team of Psychological Therapists providing a range of NICE compliant treatments at Step 3. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Experience of working in Primary Care will be an advantage. As well as 1:1 work you may be expected to co-facilitate group interventions via webinar. For the delivery of group work we provide training and additional support, should you need it. 

As a Band 7 therapist, you will contribute to the on-going development and evaluation of the service.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

This vacancy will be based in Ipswich but working across Suffolk. We currently operate a hybrid form of working where interventions are currently being delivered digitally, remotely from home; with an expectation of doing at least one day a week offering appointments face to face in the locality.  We are unable to offer remote contracts at this time.

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential criteria
  • Professional qualification and registration in a recognised mental health profession
  • Knowledge and experience acquired through relevant first professional qualification at degree or postgraduate degree level.
  • BABCP accreditation as a CBT/Therapists(may have been gained following successful completion of High Intensity Therapist Training).

EXPERIENCE

Essential criteria
  • Theoretical knowledge of CBT/Therapies and the application of appropriate models of practice, according to client need.
  • Excellent communication skills with a range of people in a variety of both clinical and managerial settings.
