Trosolwg o'r swydd
Are you an Adult Nurse who would like to become a midwife?
If the answer is ‘yes’ we would like to help you to do this through our pre-registration BSc (Hons) Midwifery (shortened) programme.
We work closely with the University of Suffolk to support your application to change career and we currently have vacancies for the September 2024 cohort.
A student midwife works under the direction of a qualified midwife in order to determine and provide programmes of care and support for women.
Provide seamless care and interventions in partnership with women and other care providers during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postnatal period.
Refer women who would benefit from the skills and knowledge of other individuals.
If this sounds like the role for you, we would love to hear from you!

The theoretical component of the course is led by the University of Suffolk in Ipswich.
Teaching will be provided via virtual classrooms and on-campus teaching and is organised into modules that are spread across the duration of the course. The practical placements will be within the Trust and you will be placed in various clinical locations to enable you to meet your practice requirements. Clinical placements include a community midwifery placement, midwifery led birthing unit, labour suite, antenatal clinic, a health visitor placement and neonatal unit placements.
During your placements you will be supported by a practice supervisor and practice assessor. The course is 24 months long and finishes at the end of August 2026.

There’s never been a more exciting time to join TeamQEH. We’re working on a once in a generation opportunity to build a new state-of-the-art hospital to open in 2030 and we are also carrying out on one of the biggest pieces of digital transformation work we’ve ever undertaken.
Our new electronic patient record (EPR) will replace paper-based patient records from 2026 and will lead to better, safer, joined-up care at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital and beyond.
At The QEH we provide a comprehensive range of specialist, acute, obstetrics and community-based services to around 331,000 people across west and north Norfolk, North Cambs and South Lincs.
We are an ambitious organisation that upholds our values of kindness, wellness and fairness. We strive for continuous quality improvement, recently demonstrated in our 2024 CQC maternity inspection rating our services as ‘Good’, and we are proud to be a place to learn and grow through recognised learning and apprenticeships.
We recognise and reward our 4,000 staff and volunteers, priding ourselves on a community atmosphere and positive team spirit. We have approx. 530 beds across 33 wards and have newly built education and training facilities, a range of modern award-winning centres alongside a talented team of people ready to give you a warm welcome. We love working here and think you will too.
