NHS Norfolk and Waveney Integrated Care Board (ICB) plans and buys healthcare services for our local population. We are accountable for the performance and finances of the NHS across Norfolk and Waveney – a total budget of £2 billion a year. Known as NHS Norfolk and Waveney, the organisation works with local people, health and care professionals, and partner organisations to improve the health and wellbeing of our population.

The organisation is part of the Norfolk and Waveney Integrated Care System. A system dedicated to working with partners in local government, the voluntary sector and others and helping the NHS to support broader social and economic development and to tackle inequalities in health outcomes.

Job overview

We have an exciting opportunity to join the North Norfolk Place Team, working in a diverse role supporting integrated working within an embedded system. You will be working closely with Practice Managers, Clinical Directors and system leaders at all levels to support development and provide assurance on delivery across a broad range of areas.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a highly motivated, forward-thinking individual to join the North Norfolk Place team.

You will have excellent relationship building, data analysis, contract management and project management skills, along with a positive attitude.

The focus of the role will be:

  • Contribute to the strategic planning and resilience of local services, which respond to the needs of the local population and through direct collaboration with general practice.
  •  Support the transformation and delivery of health and care programmes across the Place, by taking a lead role to develop and deliver activities which meet national, ICS and locality strategic objectives. 
  • Working closely with Primary Care Networks and other system partners to build Integrated Neighbourhood Teams
  • Taking a population health management approach to identifying and addressing local needs
  • Building relationships with partners to develop influence both within and outside of the ICB
  • Leading and being responsible for multiagency projects that promote integrated care

Working for our organisation

Health and care services in Norfolk and Waveney are working closely together to further improve services and provide more joined-up care for local people. In Norfolk and Waveney, we have already achieved a lot by working in partnership to improve health and care outcomes. These changes have been made possible by different organisations – NHS hospitals, GPs, mental health and community health services, local councils, care homes and social workers, voluntary and community organisations and others – joining forces to agree and plan for local people’s needs.

Norfolk and Waveney Integrated Care System (ICS) includes a statutory Integrated Care Partnership (ICP), and an Integrated Care Board (ICB) called NHS Norfolk and Waveney. This partnership and organisation dedicated to making sure that organisations work together for the benefit of our residents, staff and communities is an important step change, helping to create positive differences to local people and joining up health and social care. This is the culmination of many years of effort to build partnership working across the NHS, local authorities, the third sector and patient groups.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • To support the delivery of the new GP contract helping to shape and inform innovative and exciting new ways of working into the area.
  • Continually develop and improve the delivery of care in collaboration with partner providers and other stakeholders to meet the local population health needs.
  • In supporting the development of the networks, the services required to comply with the DES and the post holder will work closely with and also provide support to the network clinical directors.
  • Working collaboratively to support the transition of PCNs to become part of Integrated Neighbourhood Teams (INT) 
  • Working collaboratively to find solutions that impact on System flow, Quality Improvement and Patient flow
  • The post holder will also support the collection of data and information to ensure robust budget monitoring, payments and provision of assurance to the network and/or commissioners relating to DES compliance; and subsequent requirements of INTs.

  • Educated to degree level in relevant subject or equivalent level qualification or significant experience of working at a similar level in specialist area
  • Post-graduate degree in Management Studies or equivalent
  • Significant experience of successfully operating in a politically sensitive environment
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • Demonstrated experience of co-ordinating projects in complex and challenging environments
  • Experience of managing risks and reporting
  • Experience of drafting briefing papers and correspondence at SMT level
