At NNUH it is our privilege to provide healthcare to over one million people across Norfolk and surrounding areas. Our vision is to ‘provide the best care for every patient’, and if this inspires you and you share our values, we really want you to join our team.

NNUH is currently the busiest Trauma Unit in the East of England caring for almost 850 trauma patients annually many with complex care needs. We are enhancing our urgent and emergency care specialist services for patients with significant injuries as a result of trauma and have an ambition to become a Major Trauma Centre.

Our values support our vision and guide the behaviour of everything we do, these are:

People-focused

We look after the needs of our patients, carers and colleagues, to provide a safe and caring experience for all.

Respect

We act with care, compassion and kindness and value others’ diverse needs.

Integrity

We take an honest, open and ethical approach to everything we do.

Dedication

We work as one team and support each other to maintain the highest professional standards.

Excellence

We continuously learn and improve to achieve the best outcomes for our patients and our hospital.

Wish you were here? So do we.

We want all our staff to achieve a balance between work and personal life and understand how important flexible working can be.  We welcome applications on a full or part time basis, various shift patterns and hybrid working, where roles allow.

At the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (NNUH), we know the benefits diversity can bring to our organisation such as creativity, innovation and compassion. All of which have a direct impact towards our staff and patient experience. We are committed to being a Hospital for All – being equitable and inclusive, and a place where all feel a sense of belonging. We therefore particularly encourage and welcome applications from candidates who are underrepresented in NNUH’s workforce. These include people from Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic backgrounds, people with diverse abilities and people within the LGBT+ community.

Job overview

#TeamNNUH are recruiting for Cardiac Physiologists to join our busy team in Technical Cardiology.

As a result of a recent £15 million spend on our Interventional Radiology Unit (IRU) and a complete refurbishment of the Cardiac catheter labs; the department is going from strength to strength. And we are seeking dedicated individuals to join us, who have the ability to communicate in a personable, approachable and respectful manner to staff and patients.

As a department, people are at the heart of what we do. Working within our dedicated Cardiac Cath labs, within Cardiology Outpatients, you will work as part of a team which delivered over 1250 device implants last year. This makes us the biggest implant centre in the country! As part of our busy team, working in the 6th largest acute hospital Trust in the UK, you will have plenty of opportunities for continuous development and learning, as well as the support of the Trust and your department with career progression.

This is an exciting opportunity to come and join us and be part of a department which... delivers some of the most advanced Cardiology services in the country!

A £3000 welcome bonus and relocation package up to £8000 is available to eligible candidates, terms and conditions apply.

The CRM service is well established; including Brady, ILR, CRT±D, ICD, SICD, Micra and CSP implants and follow-ups. This is provided by 7 Cardiologists and 7 Physiologists

We performed about 1250 device implants in the last year, making us the biggest implanting centre in the UK. We currently have >4000 devices and ILRs remotely monitored, using 3 of the device manufacturers systems. We also offer outreach follow up clinics to one of our surrounding DGHs.

We have a rapidly increasing EP service in operation, performing a full range of diagnostic EP studies and ablation; including complex EP.

You must have experience working as a band 6 in CRM; and either have or be working towards accreditation in Devices and/or Electrophysiology. (BHRS / IBHRE / EHRA)

37.5hrs p/week, but would consider part time hours. Commitment to on-call rota for CRM only – currently 1 in 13 on a rotational basis. There is a rotational weekend commitment as we are working towards 7 day working.
