Job overview

provides strategic oversight, support and line management to the Practice Education Facilitators and the Placement Administration team. The Practice Education Lead will work in close partnership with colleagues across the Trust to optimise the student experience, grow placement capacity, and ensure that all localities are provided with high-levels of placement support.   

The role is multi-disciplinary in nature, with the post-holder having overview of nursing, AHP, and social work learners from different education providers. 

The post-holder will be expected to work in close partnership with senior colleagues to maintain excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Working within the trust's training and development department and alongside subject matter experts this role will shape and guide  the future of our Education Provision to ensure it meets national  guidance and supports in delivery of  patient safety and care 

This post  will work in close partnership joining our established trust practice education lead. Each post holder will have clear defined areas of accountability and responsibility . This post holder will  hold accountability for the  leadership and oversight of the practice education team  and work on increasing placement capacity. 

Main duties of the job

·       To ensure the Trust’s Practice Education Facilitator provision is responsive to the needs of the organisation, it’s staff and all learners including clinical apprenticeships.

  • Professionally-align, line manage and support the professional development of Practice Education Facilitators and the Placement Administration team.

·       To ensure the Placement Administration team is optimising placement capacity for all learners across the Trust, including apprentices, through promoting a culture of innovation and enterprise.

·       Support the Director of Nursing with the long-term strategic planning of education and development for pre and post registration learners.

  • Work with lead nurses, matrons, service managers and clinical team managers to ensure that there are sufficient practice assessors and supervisors prepared in accordance with NMC standards to support pre-registration nursing learners.

·       Act as the Trust representative at regional and national networks and meetings related to Practice Education and development of national standards.

Role Based? Role is based in one of our Norfolk or Suffolk Bases.  Hybrid working optional with at least 50% working week in clinical areas  and offices  

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

    • Subject matter expert in practice education. Providing advice, guidance to all stakeholders  to ensure we maximise the education and learning environment for our students. 
    • Excellent  leadership skills, with proven ability to manage and motivate staff and delegate effectively.
    • Responsible for utilising existing data and systems to ensure clinical teams practise in accordance with required standard
    • Engage with service users to monitor their experiences of services through the local service user forums
    • Keep abreast of relevant legislative and regulatory framework changes and ensure training provision and clinical practice reflect required standards.
    • Make presentations, both written and verbally, to a wide range of groups to influence both strategy and practice.
    • To assist in the identification of possible future developments in clinical practice and to advise others who are developing their role by finding the correct strategies to aid this

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • • Master’s degree or equivalent demonstrable experience
  • • Relevant BSc (Hons) degree or equivalent Cert Ed or PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Significant post-registration experience as a Registered Health Care Professional
Desirable criteria
  • Additional Clinical & Educational qualifications/post graduate courses.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate highly complex information in a manner suited to the audience.
  • Excellent leadership skills, with proven Ability to manage and motivate staff and delegate effectively
