Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Step 3 Clinical Supervisor with extensive experience of delivering CBT, to join our team. The post holder will be responsible for providing clinical supervision (including case management) to Step 3 clinicians, ensuring supervisees work safely and professionally, adhering to NICE guidelines and professional/service guidance.  Applicants must hold full accreditation with the BABCP and will have experience of offering supervision to other therapists.

This permanent position is based in Suffolk (current circumstances may require home/remote working previously).

Main duties of the job

As part of the role you will also be involved in assisting the clinical leadership team in supporting and developing the High Intensity part of the service, and helping the service achieve its required key performance indicators. You will also be responsible for your own, small caseload, providing assessment and treatment for people presenting with common mental health problems, within the NHS Talking Therapies framework.

The service is delivered via a partnership between Norfolk & Suffolk Foundation Trust (NSFT) and third sector providers. We deliver a bio-psycho-social model which includes psychological, employment and social interventions across the county. Our treatments are delivered face to face, by telephone, and online via webinars, Skype and computerised CBT (cCBT).

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The Wellbeing service is a NHS Talking Therapies programme, providing primary care assessment, advice and psychological interventions to people in Suffolk, who want help with common mental health problems of anxiety and low mood.

The clinical supervision (including case management) of Step 3 clinicians within the NHS Talking Therapies . The post holder will ensure supervisees work safely and professionally, adhering to NICE guidelines and professional/service guidance.

The post holder will be responsible for their own, small caseload. This will involve the assessment and appropriate treatment of people presenting with mental health problems, working within the NHS Talking Therapies team.

This vacancy will be currently predominately home working with bases in Ipswich and Bury St Edmunds  working across Suffolk. Interventions are largely being delivered remotely from home  and there will be an expectation for the postholder to continue with this mode of treatment alongside face to face clinics.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Theoretical knowledge of CBT/Therapies and extensive experience in the application of appropriate models of practice, according to client needs
Desirable criteria
  • Substantial experience in managerial/clinical supervision of others casework, particularly in an IAPT context

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Professional qualification and registration in a recognised mental health profession BABCP accreditation as a CBT/Therapist (may have been gained following successful completion of High Intensity Therapist Training)
Desirable criteria
  • IAPT Supervision qualification.

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Ability to make judgements involving highly complex facts or situations, ability to exercise judgement in identifying and assessing complicated events or problems
