An exciting opportunity has become available to join our Dermatology team. We are looking for a enthusiastic, reliable person to join our team who is able top work flexibly on our busy department. To work as a member of the team, carrying out work that involves direct care in support of registered nurses as well as working in support of the medical staff in clinics, assisting with the reception if patients relatives and all visitors to the department, ensuring patients privacy and dignity is maintained at all times.

The successful candidate will start in the role as Band 2 and will progress to Band 3 once training is complete. 

Main duties of the job

Our Care Support Workers carry out assigned tasks involving direct patient care supervised by a Registered Nurse.  You will work as an integrated member of the team, assisting in clinics and with surgical procedures according to agreed policies.

You will maintain the patient's dignity and self-respect at all times and achieving a high standard of care. 

You will be accountable for ensuring the highest standard of care is delivered and will constantly promote: patient safety, effective care and a positive patient experience at each stage of the patient’s journey.

 You should have excellent organisational, time-management and interpersonal skills and an ability to work within a team and on your own initiative is essential. You must be open to change and interested in your own personal development. You must have the ability to communicate effectively and be flexible within the department and have an appreciation of the principles of confidentiality.

  • Care Certificate or required to undertake Care Certificate and complete within 12 weeks – Time will be given away from clinical area to complete.
  • Experience of team working
  • Able to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines

  • Evidence of practical training or education in a care setting
  • Experience in working in a care environment
