The Spa town of Harrogate is surrounded by the beautiful countryside of the Yorkshire Dales, with excellent facilities in the area for sports and outdoor activities. There is a healthy nightlife with a number of popular bars and restaurants within the town centre and the city hosts a number of annual events such as The Yorkshire Show, The Annual Flower Show and several sporting events. Major cities Leeds and York are conveniently close with good transport links. The area also offers a choice of outstanding local schools.
Main duties of the job
To deliver and participate in the clinical care of patients with frailty conditions. Prioritise health needs and intervene appropriately.
To contribute to the Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment and participate and collaborate in the MDTs.
To have the capability to manage sick, unconscious and unstable patients within an unpredictable environment and workload.
Provide advanced and comprehensive assessment based on a specialist body of knowledge.
Direct responsibility for management of allocated patients. Including appropriate assessment, examination, investigations, diagnosis and treatment resulting in safe management and appropriate referral or discharge.
Order and interpret investigations, laboratory tests, x-rays and act on results as appropriate.
Be an Independent Prescriber and initiate drug therapy/medications as per legal requirements for the practitioner’s professional body, national and local guidelines.
To be professionally and legally accountable for all work undertaken. Practice at an advanced level of professional autonomy and accountability that is within the Trusts policies and professional code of conduct (NMC, HCPC).

Essential criteria
- Recognised Teaching and Assessing course (e.g Mentor Preparation, SLIP, Clinical Educator course, PGCE)
- Relevant Masters Degree in Advanced Clinical Practice
- Registered Practitioner (e.g. NMC/HPC)
Desirable criteria
- Leadership modules
- Evidence of higher level of practice within the specialist area
