Specialist Nurse Hysteroscopist

Job overview

We are seeking a highly motivated registered nurse who is trained or in the process of training to become a nurse hysteroscopist. This position is an exciting opportunity to further develop the skills to become an independent practitioner in hysteroscopy . Full support and training will be provided within our well established team. Upon completion of all training requirements the post will advance to band 8a.

 

Main duties of the job

The Womens Unit is a dedicated Unit providing out-patient gynaecological procedures.

The unit delivers high quality patient focused care for women requiring minor gynaecological procedures, e.g., colposcopy, hysteroscopy and vulvoscopy.

To provide expert and evidence based care and treatment that is consistent with the individual needs of the patient. To provide clinical advice within the specialist area to enable patients to make informed consent and decisions about their care and understand the rationale of the investigations and treatments.

You should be organised, able to work independently and within a team with excellent communication skills. If you are looking to advance your career and develop new skills then we would like to hear from you.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • RGN – Minimum 1st Level registration
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development within gynaecology.
  • Knowledge & understanding of related genito-urinary medicine & sexually transmitted infections
Desirable criteria
  • Cervical Cytology Course
  • Basic/Advanced Counselling skills
