This post is based in the Imaging department and is a support role. There will be new skills to learn and an opportunity to see a diverse range of roles and look at different career pathways.

This role is Band 2 with the view to progress to Band 3 upon completion of the preceptorship program or with relevant previous experience and qualifications. 

Main duties of the job

To assist the Sonographers and Radiologists, Radiographic and Nursing staff in the smooth running of the x-ray / Ultrasound/BMD / Mammography and Nuclear Medicine rooms at Harrogate District Hospital, Ripon Community Hospital and other community settings. This will involve greeting patients, changing them into gowns, assisting with the procedure, giving personal care to patients, for example toileting, processing images, undertaking necessary clerical work and liaising with wards and clinicians.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Level 2 qualifications in a relevant health care related subject or completion of the CARE certificate is required for the post. There is a preceptorship program in place for progression to level 3 when complete.

You will be a highly motivated, hardworking individual who strives to deliver excellent care. Ideally you will have some experience in a care setting and have good verbal and written communication skills and reasonable level of numeracy.

The department operates across a 7 day week and hours for this role are between 8am and 8pm.

  • NVQ level III Clinical support worker or willingness to undertake this (or equivalent)
