The department in Hull Royal Infirmary operates a subspecialist system of reporting serviced by teams of consultants. The speciality doctor will support this function with independent reporting and dissection across a range of specialties.  We invite applications from specialty doctors who are looking for the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge and ultimately gain entry onto the specialist register.

The department has successfully introduced an in-house molecular testing service to support lung cancer, colorectal cancer and melanoma diagnostic pathways and have a strong dissection team supporting all of the specialties.

SHYPS is in partnership with the National Pathology Imaging Co-operative (NPIC) and seeks to implement and deploy digital pathology in the very near future.

The department supports working from home and hopes to offer even greater flexibility in the future.
