Job overview

Would you like to join our friendly Maternity Ward Clerk team at Scarborough Hospital?

In this role you will provide a wide range of Ward Clerk administrative tasks, including Clerical support and Reception duties within the Maternity Unit.

The role is varied and busy, and as part of our team you will also provide clerical support across the wider Women’s Health department when  required.

Part time - 22 hours per week (Friday and Saturday - 08:00-20:00)

Main duties of the job

You must be self-disciplined, motivated and be empathetic to all those you come into contact with. It is essential that you can prioritise your own workload, possess sound communication skills, work as part of a team, but also exercise initiative within set parameters.

We are looking for someone that adopts the Trust's values and can demonstrate where they use these values in their motivations and drivers - in particular, their compassion, willingness to put the welfare of others above their own interests, and personal accountability. The post holder must also be computer literate & be able to use Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Educated to GCSE Level or equivalent. Maths and English at C or above – or equivalent qualification/demonstrable experience.
  • Computer literacy skills to RSA2, NVQ 2 or equivalent
Desirable criteria
  • Previous Office/Administrative experience in an NHS environment
  • Experience (1 year minimum) Office/Administrative role
  • Experience of dealing with confidential information
