The post-holder will provide an efficient and comprehensive reception and administrative service, and information collection service for the Emergency Department, Acute Medical Unit (or admitting ward), outpatient clinics and Health Records.
This key role will provide a focal point and first point of contact for many patients, relatives, carers and internal and external professionals accessing the Trust.
The role involves booking/admin support based at the main reception desk or nurses’ station in a busy Emergency Department.
This role is an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team and requires flexible working and multi-tasking.
The post-holder is expected to work independently making decisions using own initiative.

Provides and co-ordinates admin support at the nurse base in the Emergency Department for all clinical/nursing staff.
Registration/booking in, taking full details and to ensure that any change of patient details are made promptly and accurately. Data accuracy is paramount.
Responsible for discharging or processing admission all patients from Emergency Department the Trust’s core patient database.
Responsible for checking and ensuring data collection is as complete as possible and accurate.
To maintain the Emergency Department generated medical case-notes making sure that all relevant notes, reports and results are scanned onto the patient's electronic record in a timely manner.
