Job overview

We are looking for a talented individual to join our dynamic Business Intelligence and Insights Team within Digital and Information Services (DIS) team, in the role of Insights Manager, on a fixed term or secondment for a period of 12 months to cover maternity leave. This pivotal role offers a motivated and highly driven individual the opportunity to play a key part in our departments day-to-day success and support the wider journey of making data driven decisions within our Trust.

Main duties of the job

Reporting to the Deputy Head of Business Intelligence and Insights, you will be lead internal and external engagement discussions on new data requests, ensuring the reason for the request is fully understood and work is planned accordingly. In addition, you will be responsible for leading and managing the reporting team, ensuring all nationally mandated returns are valid, complete and submitted within deadlines.

Your energy, resilience and political savvy will help you tackle challenges and support us ensuring the team are able to meet the increasing demand for data within the organisation and wider NHS. This will include working with the wider BI&I team, to ensure that delivery of reporting and returns is maintained during the transition to a new EPR.

Person specification

Education, Qualifications and Training

Essential criteria
  • Degree or equivalent qualifications in Information/Computing/Management subject or equivalent experience in the delivery of an informatics service or (please see full person specification for a full list of alternatives)
  • Experience of managing a service with competing stakeholders
Desirable criteria
  • Management of large and complex operational and strategic problems within an acute NHS Trust

Experience and Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • In depth specialist knowledge of information analysis and the use of performance management information
  • Experience in providing analytical expertise to support delivery of performance targets
  • Proven ability to formulate creative and flexible solutions to difficult problems
  • Knowledge of performance frameworks
  • Experience of managing staff
