An opportunity has arisen for a position within the Emergency Department ( ED) as a Patient Co Ordinator joining our supportive and friendly team. This vacancy will involve working a shift pattern covering a variety of shifts to include days, nights, evenings and weekends. We are looking for an individual who is flexible and has excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work under pressure in an extremely busy department and consistently work to a high standard of efficiency. Previous ED experience is not essential as full training will be given. Previous applicants need not apply

KGH provides 24 hour accident and emergency services (A&E) from our Emergency Department (ED) and supports the treatment of patients presenting with minor, major and traumatic injuries.

qualifications
Essential criteria
- good standard of education to GCSE level or equivalent including numeracy and literacy skills
- NVQ level 2 or relevant hospital experience
knowledge and experience

- experience of team working
- knowledge of administrative procedures
- knowledge of GDPR (data protection) and how to apply
Desirable criteria
- experience of working in Emergency Dept
- good working knowledge of hospital systems including Medway

- able to communicate effectively with colleagues, service users and their families/carers
Desirable criteria
- able to escalate issues of concern to senior members of staff
Applicant requirements
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
