Job overview

An opportunity has arisen within the Ophthalmology Service  to join our Failsafe team.

This role will require excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills. A working knowledge of database management and Excel are essential.

The role is varied and you will be responsible to overseeing the patients journey from referral to treatment.

 

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be working within the Ophthalmology Service, managing a subspecialty of patients.


This programme will identify, treat and manage patients with a condition which could result in a loss or reduction in sight. You will be responsible for the daily operational management of the acute service as
well as providing data and information to meet national standards.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • GCSE Level Education or equivalent
  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent level of knowledge and experience
Desirable criteria
  • Qualification or evidence of training in Excel, Databases, Word etc

Knowledge and Experience

Essential criteria
  • IT skills – Microsoft word/ Office/ Exce
  • Experience of office/admin duties
  • Previous experience of working in a customer/patient focused environment, ideally within the NHS in a similar setting
  • Experience in a health related organisation
  • Knowledge of range of clinical procedures
  • 2 years NHS experience
  • The ability to run reports as required and interpret/analyse data
Desirable criteria
  • Previous experience of managing or supervising a team including development, appraisals, sickness, performance etc
  • Clinic Coordination
  • Understand of Failsafe and how this relates to patient care
