Job overview
An exciting opportunity to join our busy Elective Access Team within Cardiology has arisen, we are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated individual to support the scheduling of patients requiring Cardiac procedures within the Cath Labs.
You will be working as part of a busy team and will need to have excellent communication skills with proven organisational/prioritising skills.
The applicant should have a proven clerical background and a pro-active approach to undertaking a range of varied tasks.

Main duties of the job
To provide administration support in regards to the admission of elective patients.
To be responsible for the addition of patients to the Cath Lab waiting list with the co-ordination of the low priority treatments.
To assist in the selection of patients in accordance to the Trusts Access Policy.
To deal with telephone enquiries, liaise with internal and external sources to resolve any issues, queries or complaints which may be from patients or relatives and may involve dealing with difficult situations.

Essential criteria
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent level of education, training or experience
- Excellent keyboard skills and good working knowledge of Microsoft Office in particular Excel spreadsheets
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of medical terminology

- Knowledge of PAS systems
- Handling, extracting and interpreting complex and sensitive data, undertaking long periods of concentrated working with unpredictable interruptions
- Ability to concentrate for long periods of time on a PC

- Previous NHS Experience or Elective Care experience
- Knowledge of effective waiting list management and patient tracking lists (PTL
