The Nursing and Midwifery Council is the regulator for nursing and midwifery professions in the UK. Applicants that don't currently have the required registration will not be shortlisted.

Are you passionate about providing rapid assessment and treatment to patients in the initial phase of illness or trauma and often in life threatening situations? Would you like the opportunity to expand your skills, and be part of evolving and developing services? Do you have excellent communication and organisational skills and a commitment to continued professional development and delivering excellent patient care?

We are looking for highly motivated nurses, newly qualified or who have 6 months post registration experience in an acute setting or previous experience working within an Emergency Department setting and wish to further develop their clinical and leadership skills.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to attend an interview assessment center in person. There is no option for this to be virtual and this will take place on a Saturday.

The role of the nurse/midwife is to provide a holistic, high quality, patient focused, 
comprehensive, efficient and safe service for the patients cared for at Kettering General 
Hospital, acting with responsibility, accountability and integrity; reporting adverse events and 
poor practice to the person in charge. The nurse/midwife would be expected to effectively and 
responsibly use resources and engage in change and service improvements.
Standards of practice at Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (KGH) are aligned 
to the standards set out by the Nursing & Midwifery (NMC) Code: Standards of conduct, 
performance and ethics for nurses and midwifes (2008). Standards of practice and care, at 
KGH, also encompass the Chief Nursing Officer’s 6 C’s campaign and concentrate the 
nursing agenda on Care, Compassion, Competence, Communication, Courage, and 
Commitment.
The post holder may be required to rotate through other wards and departments as required 
to support Trust business and patient care.
The post holder will act at all times in accordance with the NMC code and local standards of 
care and policies.

Working in our busy department receiving patients with a wide spectrum of illnesses and traumas, you will be exposed to caring for patients Majors, Minors, Resus and Ambulance streaming areas, offering you exceptional opportunities for learning and development.

We encourage you to come for an informal visit so that you can have the opportunity to meet some of the staff, have a tour of the department and see for yourself what an enthusiastic and supportive team we are.

Candidates would be expected to work a 24-hour rotational shift pattern including weekends and bank holidays.
