Job overview

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated and ambitious Senior Pharmacy Assistant to join our dynamic team. The post holder must be keen to learn and develop with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The successful candidate will need to be self-motivated and able to work independently within a multi-disciplinary team. A flexible and adaptable approach to work and a commitment to self development are essential.

Main duties of the job

You will be providing dispensing services and helping to facilitate a streamlined workflow ensuring key performance targets are met

To dispense medicines to inpatients, outpatients and day cases, provide technical support to ward based clinical pharmacy technicians and provide medicines topping up services to wards.

To provide a technical end check of named patient dispensed medicines

To carry out reception duties including dealing with nurses, patients, carer's and other medical professionals.

Person specification

Education

Essential criteria
  • 2 G.C.S.E.’s including Maths & English language grade C/4 or above, C.S.E 1 or an equivalent qualification (such as functional skills level 2)

  • Pharmacy dispensing qualification

  • Ability to concentrate for long periods

  • Able to stand for long periods of time

Knowledge and experience
