Job overview

Deene B is a 24 bedded acute surgical ward. We care for a range of acute general surgical patients and support them pre and post operatively. The ward is very fast paced and requires someone who enjoys this type of nursing. The Nursing Associate (NA) will assist the nursing team in the delivery of direct care to Patients within Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

The NA will be required to provide care independently providing a holistic, high quality, patient focused, comprehensive, efficient and safe service for the patients cared for at Kettering General Hospital acting with responsibility, accountability and integrity as directed and delegated by the nurse in charge, including the delivery of care to meet a cohort of patients; admission and discharge processes, meeting the physical and psychosocial needs of patients; and will be included within the registered staff numbers.

Essential criteria
  • Registered Nursing Associate with an active NMC pin
Desirable criteria
  • Practice supervisor qualification or equivalent

Knowledge & Experience

  • Understanding of the scope of the role of the Nursing Associate in context of the team and the organisation, and how the role may contribute to service development
  • Understanding of NMC Code of Conduct and Nursing Associate proficiency’s
