Job overview

Do you want to make a positive difference in our digital delivery across the Group?

We have recently developed a groupwide Digital Service providing digital services across University Hospitals of Northamptonshire; Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust and Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.  Working together as a hospital group provides us with exciting opportunities to deliver benefits over and above what we could achieve as individual organisations and our approach to “do once for both” as set out in our Group Digital Strategy. In the development of our Groupwide Digital service, we have some great opportunities remaining in our teams!

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Group Digital Division as a Clinical Applications Support Analyst.  The post holder will contribute to the efficient delivery of a second line support service for our clinical and non-clinical applications, focusing on the delivery to internal service level agreements.

This position is based at Northampton General Hospital. The ability to travel between the Kettering General and Northampton General Hospital sites will be a requirement.

Main duties of the job

As a Clinical Applications Support Analyst, you will:

  • Coordinate the Junior Doctors intake, new starters and transfers within the Trust.
  • Work as directed to contribute to the day to day system management and user support of these electronic patient systems post implementation. This will often require investigation of systems and technology, fault finding and resolution.
  • Support the team through creation of accounts and configuration of simple changes to the clinical applications.
  • Identify, in conjunction with stakeholders, any clinical risks associated with the use of Clinical Applications and electronic patient records.
  • Provide technical support and professional advice regarding Clinical Applications.

We are looking for a flexible, self-motivated and organised individual with the ability to prioritise workload and deliver to deadlines.

You must be proficient in the use of IT tools, with experience in communicating effectively with different stakeholders.

Working hours are Monday to Friday between 08:00 to 17.00 on a rota. The post holder will be expected to work flexibly to meet the demands of a 24/7 organisation, as well as occasionally work outside of the core working hours to support configuration changes and system upgrades.

Working for our organisation

Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (KGH) and Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust (NGH) formed a hospital Group; University Hospitals of Northamptonshire NHS Group on 1 July 2021.  Working together as a hospital group provides us with exciting opportunities to deliver benefits over and above what we could achieve as individual, whilst each Trust retains its sovereignty.

Our vision is important for our patients as it delivers the infrastructure that enables seamless care across pathways, preventing delays and putting them at the centre of their care with access to, and control over, their own electronic health records.

Our Excellence Values:

  • Compassion
  • Respect
  • Integrity
  • Courageous
  • Accountable

Your contract will be with Kettering General Hospital, with responsibility and accountability across the Group Clinical Applications Team.

Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest employers in the area and we are on an exciting journey. Our mission is to provide safe, compassionate, and clinically excellent patient care, by being an outstanding employer for our people.
