Job overview
Northampton General Hospital is looking for 2 salaried GPs (Specialty Doctors) to join our busy Urgent Treatment Centre. We can offer opportunities on a fixed term contract basis and although we would ideally like 10 sessions per week, we would be happy to discuss this.
We use Symphony as our clinical system and offer an open access model to our patients. Working as part of our multidisciplinary team, you will have the opportunity to support and care for a diverse patient group.

Knowledge and Expertise
Essential criteria
- Significant ED or UTC experience
- Experience of Clinical Governance processes
Desirable criteria
- Competent with IT systems
Qualification
Essential criteria
- MRCGP trained or ST3 trainee (Fully qualified)
- Full GMC registration
Desirable criteria
- Special interest in UTC and ED
Registration
Essential criteria
- On GMC registered Medical Practitioner GMC specialist registration or within 6 months of CCT
Teaching
Essential criteria
- Experience of teaching/supervision, training undergraduates, postgraduates and junior medical staff
Management and Audit
Essential criteria
- Understanding the principles of clinical governance and its implications
- Leadership skills
- Ability to organise and prioritise workload effectively
- Ability to organise research and work within research governance procedures
- Ability to plan strategically and to exercise sound judgements when faced with conflicting pressures
- Ability to motivate and develop the multi-disciplinary team, balancing departmental and personal objectives
- IT skills and computer literacy
- Understanding and experience of audit
