Dietetic Admin Support Worker

Band 3

Job overview

You will need to like working with people and have good communication and IT skills.  You will deal with telephone calls, post and email queries and process referrals and book appointments for referred patients using SystmOne.   You will closely with the other dietetic admin staff,  dietitians and the dietetic lead to help develop the service. The post is for 18 hours/week and days worked will be agreed at appointment. There is the possibility of more hours. This post is not suitable for home working

Main duties of the job

The role includes:

- retrieving telephone messages and actioning them appropriately and making outbound telephone calls as necessary

- sorting incoming post and actioning – ensuring outgoing post is sent daily

- actioning e-mails into the department

- ordering of stationery and equipment

- formatting of resources and patient leaflets 

- processing referrals into the department, actioning them appropriately and booking clinic appointments / groups for general outpatients clinics and the weight management service

- setting up clinics using SystmOne and processing tasks into the department using Systmone

- reviewing activity on reports e.g. Referral to Treatment reports (RTT) and actioning appropriately to improve data quality

- supporting the service lead with admin tasks such as completing trust forms/processes, recruitment and induction

- other ad-hoc administrative duties such as data cleansing, reporting of IT issues, archiving, patient access requests, supporting the smooth operation of the office
