Resource Coordinator - Nottinghamshire

We are East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS), an organisation focused on delivering a high standard of emergency and urgent care to our patients across the region.

The East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust (EMAS) provides Emergency, Urgent and Non-Emergency pre-hospital care and transport across six counties (Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire & Rutland and Northamptonshire).

The Resource Coordinator is primarily responsible for supporting the Operations Directorate in the delivery of a high quality service, which meets both national and local Key Performance Indicators, through the effective, efficient and timely provision of information and analysis concerning A&E resources.

Ensuring this is achieved through the utilisation and development of appropriate software and the provision of training and support in partnership with divisional managers, control managers and team leaders to ensure best practice across divisions and the Trust.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to play a key role in the Resource Management Centre at EMAS within Nottinghamshire.

The Resource Centre Coordinator is primarily responsible for supporting the Operations Directorate in the delivery of a high quality service, which meets both national and local Key Performance Indicators, through the effective, efficient and timely provision of information and analysis concerning A&E resources.

Ensuring this is achieved through the utilisation and development of appropriate software and the provision of training and support in partnership with other divisional managers, control managers and team leaders to ensure best practice across divisions and the Trust.

The post holder is accountable to the Resource Team Manager for the delivery of the service by providing expert knowledge, skill and leadership in the specialty area of resource administration and co-ordination.

The post holders will be required to work on relief covering Monday-Sunday, including bank holidays. The shift times will be 0700-1900 Mondays to Fridays and 0800-1600 Saturdays and Sundays.

Experience of working with resourcing systems such as GRS is highly desirable but not essential for the role.

The post holder is accountable to the Resource Manager for the delivery of the service by providing expert knowledge, skill and leadership in the speciality area of resource administration and co-ordination.  Specifically the core responsibilities are:

  • To contribute to the delivery of Trust performance and call connect response targets by ensuring maximum productivity and efficiency of resources.

 

  • To act as the first point of contact for A&E staff for reporting absence from working, booking annual leave and the allocation of overtime.

 

  • To ensure that all relief staff have the correct hours allocated to them in line with service policy.

 

  • Ensure the correct skill mix of operational staff working across the Trust to provide a safe and effective service.

 

  • The timely provision of analytical and statistical information, using an appropriate software package.

 

  • To report an overview of projected divisional performance using Unit Hour Utilisation.

 

  • To proactively support divisional managers, control managers and team leaders in resource administration and co-ordination.

 

  • To ensure that production of core rotas and all information held on data systems (within the Division) are accurate and conform to Working Time Directives and Data Protection Act requirements.

 

To maintain standardised procedures in the use of resource data systems.
